

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Jean Cusic. Sharon was born on December 25, 1945, in Washington, D.C., and departed this life peacefully on February 26, 2026, in Inwood, West Virginia, surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon was born to the late John and Fatima (Davis) Thorne. After
graduating from Chamberlain Vocational High School, she began a long and dedicated career as a Contract Specialist at the Naval Shipyard in Washington, D.C., where she worked from 1963 until her retirement in 2001.
Her love story with the late John “Larry” Cusic, who preceded her in
death, began on November 4, 1964. Together, they shared 47 beautiful years of marriage.
Sharon was a devoted member of Inwood Family Worship Center. She faithfully served in the church choir, participated in women’s fellowship, and generously gave her time in service to others and to the Lord.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Susie Archer; her
grandchildren, Johnny Mentges and the late Jennifer Pyle; her
brother-in-law, Joe Cusic (Peggy); her brother, Billy Grove (Pat); her
sister, Judith Wright (Ronald); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received for viewing on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rosedale Cemetery and Funeral Home in Martinsburg, West Virginia. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Rosedale.
Sharon will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Rosedale
Cemetery. Her life will be fondly remembered by her family and her wide circle of friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts always.
