
Born on September 27, 1935 he was the son of the late O.A. and Cora Virginia (Morrow) Lentz.
He was a local farmer his entire life, operating Willow Brook Farm Market for the last several years. He retired from Berkeley County Schools as a school bus driver.
He was a past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, American Simmental Association, MD and VA Simmental Association, WV Farm Bureau, WV Cattleman’s Association, Eastern Panhandle Saddle Club, American Paint Horse Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association.
He was a member of Moler Avenue Church of the Brethren. He was a recipient of the Berkeley County ASC Farmer of the Year and an honorary member of Martinsburg FFA.
He is survived by his wife Irene Peggy (Grubb) Lentz, whom he married January 26, 1957; son, Stuart Lentz, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Trudy and Austin Ankers; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Lentz-Dudrow and Mark Dudrow; daughter, Susan Burner; son, Arthur Lentz, and his fiancé, Kim; grandchildren, Staci, Danielle, Ashley and Cora Lentz, Karen, Thomas, and Mari Slusher, and Tara and Frank Burner; a great-granddaughter, Emma Thomas.
He is also survived by a sister, Mary C. Custer of Ocala, FL; nieces, Kay Carol Gregory and Lois Ann Kohlweiss; brother-in-law, Bob Tabler; sister-in-law, Betty Dunham, and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deborah Lynn Lentz; two brothers, James R. and Lester Lentz; four sisters, Helen and Della Lentz, Hilda Detter, and Marie Houser; and niece, Donna Lemaster.
Friends will be received from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Funeral Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Rosedale Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Butler and Chaplain John Waidande. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
