Vanessa was the bubbliest, blonde haired girl you’ve ever seen. She used to scream with joy as a baby just to hear the sound of her own voice. That squinty-eyed smile that spread all across her face. Relentlessly positive. Beautifully naive. She was going to be a skydiver, teacher, missionary and fully believed that she would succeed at all simultaneously. Maybe she did in a way.
She traveled for missions to Jamaica, Belize, Philadelphia, and Nicaragua. She was cheerleader. Homecoming queen. Hometown Idol. Tried out for The Voice. Threw some of the best ragers that WVU has ever seen. Or so we’ve been told.
We never knew it was possible to miss someone before they go. But a new version emerged.
Legend. Brave. Strong. Forever young and never old.
Guns before prom. Hedgesville High School and WVU grad. Saying “no offense” after saying something wrong. Sweet and sassy. The happy one, no matter what.
We love you so much. We’re so proud of the way you fought.
Unwavering faith. Insurmountable odds. Through it all your testimony remained: What a great God!
We’ll miss you, Ness, but we’ll see you again! To our daughter, sister, friend, the badass. Cheers to your forever, my friend!
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. Thank you, Natasha Breines Museles, for your unwavering love and support for Vanessa.
