Vicki was born on October 25, 1955, in Willard, OH, the daughter of the late Myrtle (Worcester) Daniel and Robert P. Stein.
Vicki spent her younger years growing up in the North Fairfield area. She loved spending time with her numerous cousins on her grandparents’ family farm, the joyful days that shaped her fondest memories.
Vicki graduated from Buckeye Central High School in 1974. In 1981 she met Joe and then in 1982 they were married and relocated to Texas. There, Vicki ran a fulltime daycare in their home, became a skilled seamstress and cookie baker. In 1998, Vicki began working for the McKinney Independent School District's purchasing department.
After 24 years of living in Texas, Joe’s career led them to Martinsburg, West Virginia. There, Vicki was an active member of her neighborhood pool committee. She worked at Brentwood Industries and later at the Berkeley County Fire Service Board until her retirement in 2018.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Joe Brocklesby; her daughter, Tonya Hoepf, and son-in-law, Ryan; her treasured granddaughters, Rylie and Kinley Hoepf; her son, Joey Brocklesby; and her sisters, Christine Laughbaum of New Harmony, IN, and Sara & Edward Padilla of Santa Ana, CA, along with step-siblings, Roger Daniel, Barb Castor, Steven Daniel, Christopher Daniel, Mike Daniel, Marlene McKinney and Tom Daniel. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth R. Daniel, and her sister, Barbara 'Bobbi' Foster.
A passionate seamstress and avid reader, Vicki found joy in her sewing room, whether she was mending, hemming, or creating bridesmaid dresses and baby blankets. She always had a good book at hand. A great cook and baker, she ran a well-organized home and walked to the beat of her own tune. She embraced a simple life that cherished her family and long-time special friends. She took great pride in being a Nana, creating cherished memories filled with laughter. Her granddaughters were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Vicki will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date in Crestline, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV. Rosedale Funeral Home & Cemetery in Martinsburg, WV will be handling the final arrangements.
