Born March 26, 1927 in Berkeley County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Bertha (Reedy) Costello.
She is survived by her three daughters: Connie Jones, Robin Calabrasse, and Lori Hintz; four grandsons: Jeff Jones and wife Letita, Chris Pierce, John Pierce, and Garrett Hintz; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar C. Barthlow, three brothers and two sisters: Herbert M. Reedy, Clyde E. Costello, Patricia Ann Pannuty, and infants John and Delores Costello.
Virginia worked at Merchants and Farmers Bank for most of her life, as well as the Royce Hosiery Mill. But her most rewarding job was being a caregiver for many over the years.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of The Panhandle in Kearneysville.
