

Vivian Jeanette Clark, a loving mother, devoted grandmother, aunt, sister, and cherished friend, peacefully received her heavenly wings on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Vivian was born on February 17, 1946, to the late Ethel Virginia Grantham and George Robert Holmes.
Vivian was an active, dedicated member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown, WV, and was committed to participating in senior activities and leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and spiritual strength. She enjoyed the music ministry and listening to her godson, Jonathon Williams, sing, play the piano, and directing the choirs.
Her passion was always centered on helping her family and others. She attended James Rumsey Technical Institute where she received her License Practical Nursing Degree and began her career at Kings Daughters Hospital where she was an LPN for 15+ years, then went on to work at the Veterans Administration Hospital Nursing Home, unit A/B, for 20+ plus years. After 40 years of dedicated service, she retired and later enjoyed part-time work as a floor attendant at the Hollywood casino's which she loved dearly.
Vivian loved her family fiercely. Vivian was a vibrant, fun-loving woman who lived life to the fullest, surrounded by the things she loved-from the excitement of going to Atlantic city, Louisville, playing bingo and spades, to the joy of watching her granddaughter cheer and compete in competitions, to watching her grandsons on the baseball field. She was always the heart of action. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters traveling, staying in hotels, going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, cheer competitions, and shopping. She loved the girl's trip and let's not forget Las Vegas and her Thursday and Saturday bingo nights with Wanda and Sylvia. The daily phone calls from her best friend Veda. Vivian loved how her sisters and nieces would send her meals on a regular basis and then would brag to her daughters about how her dinner was delivered to her, she absolutely loved it.
Vivian leaves behind her beloved children: Deneatta M. Williams (Robert), Dana M. Clark, Carmella A. Clark (Leroy), and Melissa A. Clark (Late Gerald) all of Martinsburg, WV.
Daughter in law, Leslie Clark of Shepherdstown, WV. Her 5 grandchildren, Antyon Lee (Britney), Donell Lee (Falon), both of Inwood, WV, Jaren Williams (Heather), Late Robert Anthony Williams of Martinsburg, WV, Aaliyah Rice (Trevor) of Louisville Kentucky. Great grandchildren, Nyah Williams, Amai Grier, and Donell lee Jr.
She also leaves behind her loving siblings: Andrea Lawson (Byron), Cheryl Jones (Samuel), of Shepherdstown, WV, Victor Holmes (Delena), Kim Holmes, Todd Grantham, all of Martinsburg, WV, Don Holmes (Judy), of Charles Town WV, Brian Holmes (Linda) of Hagerstown, MD, and Lisa Williams (Dennis), of Shenandoah Junction WV.
In addition to her siblings, she leaves behind her special friends, Veda Clark Brown, Toni Stevenson, of Martinsburg, WV, Wanda Smith and Francine Kidrick, of Shepherdstown, WV,
Sylvia Jackson and Aniquia Hart, both of Ranson, WV. Her uncle George Grantham (Marcina), of Martinsburg, WV. Special cousin, Sophia Cowan, of Landover, MD. Godson, Jonathan Williams, of Washington D.C. A host of very close nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as countless cousins, friends, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky D. Clark; grandson, Robert Anthony Williams; sisters, Loretta D. Holmes Grantham, Tracy Y. Grantham, Bridget D. Grantham; her parents, maternal grandparents, Lucinda Kidrick and Henry H Grantham Sr.; paternal grandmother, Clarissa Branson. Uncles Henry Grantham jr., and Clarence Holmes; aunt, Carrie Ann Mosby; great aunts, Blanche Washington, and Zeila Reed; great uncle, Edgar Kidrick.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12:00pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 4257 Kearneysville Pike, Shepherdstown, Wv 25443, Visitation will be held the hour prior from 11:00am until the start of the service, with Rev. Dr. Dereck Shackleford Officiating. Vivian will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Kearneysville. Final arrangements entrusted to: Rosedale Funeral Home
