Anna “Lucille” Eklund, a long time resident of the Lake Stevens community, passed away on Saturday, July 23rd after a brief medical event. She was surrounded by her family as she made a peaceful transition leaving her earthly body.
Born in 1926 to parents Alvin and Norma Thompson in Wenatchee, WA., she spent most of her early life in Skagit and Snohomish counties with her six siblings.
Lucille married Les “Bud” Eklund in 1947. After a brief stent in New York City, they made Lake Stevens their home in 1954. There they created a happy life raising their four children on the lake.
Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband Bud and her dear son Ken.
She is survived by sons Doug and Dan (with his spouse Marilyn) and daughter Nancy as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lucille was a dedicated mom, grandparent and friend. She embraced life with an adventurous spirit, alive curiosity, good humor, love and enough cookies for everyone.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 11th at 11:30 a.m. at the Lake Stevens First Baptist Church, downtown Lake Stevens.
All are welcome to join us as we honor Lucille’s well lived life.
