Barbara Barbe Lynn Jones Jacobson

Barbara lost her courageous battle with cancer October 30, 2012. She was born May 28th, 1949 to James and Lorraine Jones in Bottineau, North Dakota. In 1967 she married Terry Jacobson and moved to Washington where she raised 3 children and worked at GTE Directories. She was diagnosed in 1992 with Multiple Sclerosis and after going out on long term disability from work she became an active participant in the MS Society where she helped coordinate the first Snohomish County MS Walk and many after that, she was a Leader of the Marysville MS Support Group, and was an advocate for people with disabilities in Olympia. Barbara loved socializing with people and being with her family. Throughout years of doctor’s appointments and declining mobility she always had a positive outlook. She was diagnosed with bladder cancer in January 2012 and fought it with all she had.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father James R. Jones; Grandparents Marvin and Laura Ellis; Clinton and Viola Jones; Godparents Martin and Lois Kitzman; Mother in law Doryce Jacobson; Brother in law Ronald Wells.

She is survived by her mother Lorraine Jones; husband Terry Jacobson; children Susan Jacobson, Steve Jacobson and Melissa Himple, Malinda and Josh Davis; grandchildren Emilio Jacobson, Tynishia Walker, Nicole Doyle, Troy Davis, Cameron Davis; great grandson Dashawn Jacobson and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in North Dakota and many friends and family.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville
