Beverly was raised on Tulalip with her brothers and sisters, Beverly spent her younger years with her family traveling to fairs, and other event as her family was Traditional Eagle dancers that would perform at fairs and rounds-ups. The family would also spend summers picking berries, apples, fishing and picking hops.
Beverly met the love of her life Claude Grant while picking berries with her family. Claude was much older than Beverly, following the tradition, Claude asked Beverly’s father permission to date and soon after they were married in 1961, Beverly was just 18 years old. Bev and Claude spent their first years together working in the orchards, picking pears, apples and peaches. Claude and Beverly also owned a logging company for a few years, until they started their adventures on the road. During the winters they traveled to California to get turquoise as Beverly made jewelry to sell. They lived frugally as they lived in their small travel trailer selling the jewelry they made, enjoying times riding Harleys and having fun with friends. Bev and Claude enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing, clam digging and laughing. Beverly was a very good cook, enjoyed canning all sorts of meat and veggies and the best smoking salmon. Beverly enjoyed baking and she made desserts daily for Claude and all to enjoy. In 1995 Claude and Beverly settled down on the property that she grew up on located in Tulalip until Claude’s death in 2001.
In Beverly later years she found Bingo and was also very good at catching square’s that others would miss, she enjoyed playing with her sister and other friends.
Beverly was married for 40 years to the love of her life, spending days enjoying life and family. Bev and Claude never had children of their own but Beverly helped raise Robert (Whaakadup) as a young boy, Bev had much love for all her nieces and nephew. Aunt Beverly’s love, gentleness, and kindness, will live on in the hearts of her family members. Bev had a smile that lit up the room when she walked in. Beverly passed on her giving heart buy always sharing her yummy smoked salmon and jams with all the family and friends. Beverly for a few years lived with her niece and child hood partner Anita Henry.
For the past 8 years Beverly was care for by Robert (Whaakadup)and Lisa Monger. She traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Las Vegas, Montana and many camping trips with the family and beloved care giver, Chayla, Jody and Ashley, Jenni
Beverly was preceded in death by her mother Lena and father Ernest, siblings Henrietta, Frank, Mike, Ernest Jr, Florence, Magdalen, Judy, Floyd, Anthony and Rose.
Beverly in survived by many family members, all her beloved nieces and nephews, so many to name along with great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews. Here memory a teaching will live on in the hearts of all that knew her.
