Born on the Shawnee Reservation in Grand Rapids Michigan on January 10, 1950, to the parents of Lavaun and Blenn Roof. She grew up being a "navy brat" (that's what she would call herself) traveling state to state growing up. One of her favorite times is when her and her siblings were growing up in Ohio on their chicken farm, she also enjoyed the time she spent in Puerto Rico, and she loved her time in California being in her surfer girl/hippie era. As an adult she moved to Yakima where she began her career in banquets, "The Banquet Buzzard" as she would refer to herself as. She spent some of her time working at the Town Plaza with her mother and daughter, it's also where she met the love of her life, whom she spent the next 38 years with. Although she did many different things in her life, her most favorite thing in the world was being a grandma/great-grandma. On the day our beloved grandma left us she was surrounded by so many of her loved ones and I'm sure as she arrived into heaven it was the same. Where she must have been greeted by so many loved ones that we have lost along the way like, her parents, siblings (Blenn & Vernon), her best friends, and so much more who waited many moons to see her beautiful face again. She leaves behind her partner of 38 years, "Ernie Jimmy," daughters Arlene and Angel, grandchildren Amanda, India (Adrian), Montaniel, Anthony, Jedidiah (Nova), great-grandchildren Dominic, Nathaniel, Aaliyah Jean, Arianna, little Adrian, and her pineapple princess Alivianna. We will miss her dearly every single day and know that there will never be another like our grandmother miss Beverly Jean 💛
