

Born in Washington D.C., Maryland along with and predeceased by his twin brother Kenneth R. McMahill
He is survived by his daughters, Allison Booth, Lisa M Hunter-Roberts and Maureen McMahill along with 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Bruce grew up in Washington D.C. until joining the U.S. Coast Guard at age 17. He served for 32 years, from 1956 until November 1988. His final rank at retirement was Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the Electronic Engineering division. He found is love of travel while aboard many Coast Guard Cutters and Ship. After retiring he attended the University of Washington, earning his degree of Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1993.
He has an avid motorcycle rider and because a member of the Gold Wing Road Rider Association (GWRRA) in 19xx. He and his wife Sandy traveled across the Unites States. He was the GWRRA Ambassador to the Canadian Road Wing Riders, served as a Regional Director, and was the N.W. Safety Director. He wrote several safety manuals adopted by the GWRRA led motorcycle safety classes throughout the country for the GWRRA.
As if motorcycle travel wasn’t enough, he was able to see the world as a “cruiser”. He and his wife were able to travel to all corners of our world. They visited every continent, and the number of cities and ports are too long to list. Suffice it to say, he and his wife received an award for the 100th cruise on one cruiseline alone.
He lived a full and rich life pursuing his passions. He left an impact on the lives of so many. He had a family who loved him and will dearly miss him. ~Semper Paratus
A funeral service for Bruce will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave, Marysville, WA 982704237. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
