Carl Thomas Moen

He was born January 1, 1925 at the family farm in Granite Falls.

He was the youngest of nine children born to Chris Moen and Amanda Oberg Engstrom Moen. After graduating high school, he served for three years in the European theater in World War II.

Returning home, he married the love of his life, Roane Strid, also of Granite Falls, and together, they raised three children.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman, always ready for a hunting, fishing, mushrooming, or camping trip. He enjoyed sports and loved music and dancing.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Roane; daughter, Lynn (Dave) Hohenhaus; sons, Ron (LaVerne) Moen, Monty (Deila) Moen; granddaughters, Yvonne Hohenhaus Young and Shelby Moen; great-grandson, Matthew Young; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tom also leaves behind his special friend and caregiver, Sue Dolhanyk.

A memorial will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at the Granville Grange, 9401 163rd Avenue NE, Granite Falls, WA 98252.
