Christy was born August 1, 1967 to Christopher and Vesta Wilman in Sedro Woolley, WA. Christy passed away peacefully on Nov 12th, 2023 jamming out to Crazy Train. Her loving family and friend Robin Ruiz cared for her during her final days. She had 3 amazing older sisters, Rena Mae, Jackie Lynn and Linda Kay, older brother Terrill “Allen” Wilman and younger brother George Shane. Christy shared a close bond with her siblings. She was raised by her mother and her stepfather George Henson. As a young child she spent time with her brother Allen and nieces Lori, Terri and Janie. The girls grew up like sisters and were often referred to as “The three musketeers”. As a teenager she went to live with George and his wife, Linda. Through all the changes in the family, Christy was always respectful and cared about others. She worked hard and graduated from high school in 1985, then moved into an apartment in Seattle, worked at Dick’s Restaurant and attended ITT School of Business in Seattle until she became a mother. Christy was a hard worker and was employed as a waitress and in the Aerospace industry throughout her life.
Christy was married to the Love of her life, Jack Campbell in 1997. Jack often enjoyed pushing Christy’s buttons at every turn, it was true love! They successfully raised 4 strong-willed children together, Keira, Kylee, Kamron and the youngest Keaton. There wasn’t anything that mattered to Christy more than being a mom. Christy was very proud of all her children and kept all of them close. Christy and Jack’s family is extended, as family isn’t always just blood. There are many other children they have been there for in the best way they could. Christy loved them all like her own. Christy had 7 grandchildren Xavier, Madilyn, Roman, Hailey, Clara, Joseph and Kahleia. Being a grandmother was one of her biggest joys, leaving them with the best memories of holidays, birthdays, and many traditions to carry on through life. Christy was at peace knowing her children and grandchildren would carry on her legacy!
Christy always had a love for loud music, garage sales, baking, flowers and cooking enough food to feed an army! Once Christy’s children were grown, she was able to check off some of her bucket list items with her husband, which included going to the Daytona 500, many concerts, having her own koi pond, crabbing and fishing in their boat and a trip to Missouri to visit her sister Linda and family. When the news came that Christy had cancer her children asked about her bucket list and she said, “I am good, happy and have done a lot of stuff I wanted to do”.
Christy was very resourceful and could make a little seem like a lot and always thought of others. Christy was selfless and the true definition of a Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Aunt and friend. Christy welcomed anyone and never hesitated to help those in need. To say she will be deeply missed is nothing but an understatement. Anyone that knew Christy would all agree that her laughter and smile were contagious. Her memories and impact on others will be cherished forever!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Vesta and three of her siblings; Rena, Jackie and Shane.
