He was born in Everett WA on April 2, 1935 and Don graduated from Everett High School. He married Helen Joan Loth on June 6, 1958. Don worked for B & M Grocery stores for many years. He retired from Snohomish County PUD. He was a member of the Jaycees, Moose Lodge, Masons – Crystal Lodge and the Scottish Rite and Sons of Norway. Don had a passion for horses, fishing, camping and family vacations.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Swan; daughter, Myrna Dexter (Nick); grandchildren, Nicole Amato (Manny), Holly Taylor, Cody Samonds, Crystal Brooks (David) and Bryce Evans; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Don was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Swan in Sept. 22, 1998; his brother Lyle Swan, and his parents Roy and Bessie Swan.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home with burial to follow at Marysville Cemetery. As you know Don was an avid Seattle Mariner fan, please feel free to wear your jerseys.
