Harvey Russell JUBIE

Harvey Russell Jubie age 79, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 8, 2022. He was born August 2, 1942, in Everett, Washington. In his youth, he attended schools in the Everett and Lake Stevens areas and graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1960. Between 1964 and 1970, he served in the Washington State National Guard. After graduation, he started an electrical apprenticeship and received his journeyman card in 1964 the age of 22. In 1967, he started his own company called Jubie Electric and also started building houses on the side. In the 1980's, Harv quit the electrical business and concentrated on construction, building both residential and commercial rental properties. Harv and Janet DeGroot were married on June 30, 1967. They have three daughters, Catherine, Kristen, and Rebecca. Harv had a strong work ethic and grew Jubie Construction through hard work. After finding success, he turned his efforts to community service. Harv was a caring man who loved people and looked for opportunities to serve others. Harv joined the Marysville Noon Rotary in 1991 and began serving on the board in 1992. He served as President for the 1998 - 1999 Rotary year and was a District Governor in 2005-2006. Through Rotary International and Hands for Peacemaking, Harv and other Rotarians made a yearly trip to small villages in the mountains of Guatemala to help build schools in remote areas. Harv made the trip 20 years in a row. Harv also served on a number of boards including the Providence General Foundation, Marysville Chamber of Commerce, and the Marysville YMCA. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Everett for many years. Harv loved spending time with his family. He stayed close to his siblings, always remembering to call them on their birthdays and frequently visiting them and his parents. He and Jan loved seeing their kids and grandkids and enjoyed taking vacations together. He is survived by his wife, Jan, and daughters Cathy Albrecht (Cris), Kris Vanden Bosch (Justin) and Becca Jubie; grandchildren Chloe Horner (Cody), Jordan Albrecht, Ben Wehmeyer, Simon Albrecht and Roman Queen; siblings Bob Jubie, Richard Jubie (Maria), Larry Jubie (Linda), Phil Jubie, Marge Fairweather (Duane), Dave Jubie, Al Jubie (Kathy), and Annette Nassar (George) and many nieces and nephews who he was very fond of. He is preceded in death by his sisters Laura Bailey, Christine Jubie and Gail Jubie. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3 at 2:00 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Everett.
