Howard was very proud that he could trace his lineage in the United States prior to the Revolutionary and had a distant
Grandfather who was a general in the same. He was also related to Daniel Boone and his family followed Boone from Virginia to Kentucky.
Howard graduated from Everett High and immediately went into the army serving in the 82nd airborne. He was still in contact with the men he served with.
Upon release from the army he married Judy Schei from Stanwood and enjoyed a special relationship for almost 65 years. Eventually they were blessed with a daughter Kelly and a son Douglas who became priorities in their life.
Shortly after their marriage Howard got on the Everett Fire Department serving 33 years as a driver. He liked his job and the men he worked with. He also drove long haul for North American van lines on his days off.
He spent retirement taking roads trips visiting friends in other states, attending concerts, playing cards, church activities, taking care of the widows in the families and being involved with his grandsons who he loved.
Howard leaves behind his wife Judy, daughter (Bruce), son Douglas, grandsons Shane Hubbard, Sam Sylliaason, Kyle Sylliaason(Meg) and great grandsons Brody Hubbard and Milo Sylliaason. He also leaves a brother-in-law, sisters-law Sharon Barrows and Rebecca Schei and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Fredrick and brother-in-law John Schei and David Schei.
At Howard's request there will be no memorial service. Howard had accepted Jesus Christ many years ago and now he resides in the place Christ had prepared for him. Well done good and faithful servant.
