OBITUARY

James Dean Barclay

November 2, 1934April 25, 2021

James was the first born of Louis Barclay and wife Margaret (McLain) Barclay of Marysville, Washington on November 2, 1934. He was followed by younger brother Dennis Barclay and sister Ann (Barclay) Salvadalena.

He graduated from Marysville High School in 1954. James then joined the National Guard and was honorably discharged in March of 1956. James was the father of three sons (Curtis, Louis, and Timothy) during the marriage to his first wife Pat.

James began working on tugboats in the Everett Harbor for a few years until he discovered boat building and commercial fishing, which took him to a lifetime of fishing seasons in Alaska.

During this time in 1983 he married a school teacher, Bonnie Ray Del Pozo, and gained two sons, Anthony and Johnny Del Pozo. Jim and Bonnie enjoyed many summers at their home on the lake with Jim sport fishing and taking up trapshooting. After they both retired, they began spending twenty + winters in Yuma, Arizona.

James is survived by wife Bonnie, sister Ann (Dick) Salvadalena, sister-in-law Joan Barclay, and sons Louis Barclay, Timothy Barclay, Anthony Del Pozo (Christine), Johnny Del Pozo (Kimber), and Tracy McLaughlin, who was just like another son to Jim, grandchildren Sarah, Tasha, Britney, Nathan, and Nicholas, one great-grandchild Grayson, and several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, brother, brother-in-law Lowell Stauffer, and his son Curtis.

Memorial gifts can be made to Providence Hospice & Home Care Foundation.
