Janice Maureen Long

Born on March 28, 1947, in Spokane, Washington, to Harry and Dulcie Meyers, Jan was known from her earliest days for her fiery redhead personality, matching quick wit, and a deeply compassionate soul. Even as a young child, Jan possessed a strong faith because of here salvation in Jesus Christ and was baptized in approximately 1958. Her life was defined by her servant’s heart and given a unique ability to listen without judgment, offering open ears and a steadfast friendship to anyone in need. Jan loved Jesus and her love extended to all of God's creations, enveloping both the people around her and the many animals she cared for throughout her life.

Driven by her desire to help others, Jan attended Seattle Pacific University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in clinical counseling psychology. She channeled her education and innate empathy into a meaningful, multi-year career as a drug and alcohol counselor, guiding countless individuals through their darkest moments toward healing and recovery.

In addition to her professional calling, Jan was the cornerstone of her family. She married, Ken Long, on September 22, 1967. Together, they built a beautiful life in the Everett area, where Jan raised their two sons, Randy and Mike, while simultaneously providing vital support to Ken’s land surveying company.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dulcie Meyers, and her husband, Ken.

Her vibrant spirit lives on through her surviving family:

Her twin sister: Judy Kelly and her husband Ken (yes, they both married Ken's)

Her children: Randy and his wife Amy; Mike and his wife Jess

Her six grandchildren: Randy's Girls~ Hannah and her husband Chase Gawiran; Lexa and her husband Jeff Pistor; Ally and her husband Armando Garza;

Mike's Kids~ Tim, Cole and Jordyn and her husband Nate Mack.

As well as her two great-grandchildren: Brave and Peachy Pistor.

Jan's warmth, her unmistakable sense of humor, and her unwavering dedication to serving others will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
