
Jody moved with her family to Huntsville, AL in August 1966, where she was joined by a sister and a brother. Three years later the family moved again, this time to Las Vegas, NV where Jody started school. In 1974 the family relocated back to the Tri-Cities. Jody attended Sacajawea Elementary, Chief Joseph Junior High and graduated from Hanford High School in 1983. She received an AA degree from Columbia Basin College and attended Washington State University in Pullman for a short time. She met Kevin Gustafson while attending WSU; they were married March 7, 1987 at Christ the King church in Richland.
Kevin and Jody had two children, Tyler born in February 1993, and Ashley born in September 1994. Jody was a wife and stay at home mom for many years. More recently she worked as an office worker for a medical billing company.
Jody loved pets and flowers. Kevin always kept a beautiful yard, planting everything she brought home from the nursery. Many pets populated their homes over the years. Kevin and Jody lived in Poulsbo, Silverdale, and Kingston before settling in Marysville WA, for many years. Most recently they moved to rural property north of Lake Stevens.
Jody is survived by her husband Kevin, son Tyler and daughter Ashley. She is also survived by her parents Jim and Faye Notch of Kennewick, sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Kirk Maddox of North Las Vegas, NV; brother and sister-in-law Curtiss and Becky Notch of Kalispell MT, and nephews Christian and Austin Maddox and Liam and Luka Notch.
Other surviving family members are Kevin’s parent Gayle Gustafson and husband Dale Wotring, parent Fred Gustafson and wife Jan Gustafson, and sister Wendy Gustafson.
The family wishes to thank Providence Hospital for the excellent care they provided while she was there and the compassion they showed towards her and her family.
A private service will be held at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home located in Marysville, WA on August 30th.
