

She was born December 6, 1942 in Perrysburg, Ohio to Irven and Marguerite (Bassett) Morehouse. She was the youngest of six children, with two brothers and three sisters. She lived in Ohio until she married her second husband, Kenneth Shoemaker, on April 5, 1968. He was an active service member in the USAF. His career allowed the family live in different regions, including England for six years. While there, they would travel around and see many interesting places including several medieval castles, Loch Ness, and Stonehenge.
She was primarily a housewife and mother. When her children were young and in school, she would volunteer at various service organizations. As a volunteer, she was able to be at home when her children got home from school.
She was an avid crafter, preferring a wide variety of hand crafts, especially knitting, sewing, crocheting, cake decorating, beading, scrapbooking, eggshell art, and most recently, puzzles and coloring pages. She also enjoyed reading, often having multiple books in progress.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses/partners: John (Leslie) Van Ausdale; David Van Ausdale; Cynthia (James) Acocks; Mary (Jon) Shoemaker.
She was blessed with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings, and parents.
