

She was born April 2, 1911 in Ross, North Dakota. She was proud to say she reached her 100th birthday and exceeded it by three years. She lived through the Great Depression and tornados which gave her lots of stories to tell. She was the fifth of thirteen children and had a lot of responsibility for raising eleven brothers and one sister.
She married Lester Westphal in 1937 in Minot, North Dakota. They moved to Marysville in 1947. They were married for 51 years before Lester passed away in 1983. She worked at Montes Clothing Store in Everett for many years. She served 50 years on the election board, was a life time member of Order of Eastern Star; a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Marysville; was a 4H leader; and loved doing family genealogy research before computers.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeri (Larry) Knowles, Bonita (Mike) Triff; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and many other family members. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7215 51st Ave Ne., Marysville, WA 98270.
The family wants to thank Hospice of Snohomish County for all their assistance and care of Jurina.
A celebration of Jurina’s life will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 3:30 pm at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial at the Marysville Cemetery.
