

Laura Madeline Bode 85 was born on the 8th of February 1940 in Ogden, Utah to Laura Hope Mills and Lyman Marion Hill. She passed away peacefully at home on October 6th, 2025, after battling several years of Dementia. Laura was a resident of Palatine, Illinois.
Laura is the wife of Gerald Walter Bode for the past 63 years. Together they have 5 children. Lyman John (deceased), Sandra Bode, Linda Bode (Brian), David Bode (Kim), And Karen Kirchner (Matt). They have 10 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren which they have loved to watch them grow and be an active part of their lives.
Laura grew up in Pasa Robles, California and in high school she was very active in the marching band. She worked and met Gerry at the San Francisco telephone company. When her children were young, she managed apartments and as they grew up, she did her most rewarding job as a stay-at-home mom. When her family moved to Illinois, she became a school bus driver in which she found to be rewarding and enjoyable.
Besides being with her children and grandchildren, Laura loved to work in her garden and do wood carving. She made friends everywhere she went and was always cheering on the underdogs. When her sisters and brother were alive, she looked forward to their yearly vacations in Colorado and Arkansas with them.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother and their spouses which she had missed so much. She is a loving Aunt to many Nieces and Nephews. Laura will forever be remembered by her grandchildren as the grandma they could tease but would always have their back and by her children as their biggest supporter and motivator.
