Lillie Sparks, 62, of Marysville, WA, born August 20, 1947, passed on from this life on the evening of July 18, 2010. Her daughter and sister were by her side at the University of Washington Hospital. Lillie fought a courageous two year and one month battle with pancreatic cancer with such dignity and grace.
Lillie is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Sparks; parents, Zada Griffith and (Dad) Claud ("Shorty") Griffith; sisters, Alva Harris (Mike), Shirley Gamble (Doug), and Molly Mondor (Jack); as well as sister-in-law, Vada Kohn; nephew, Tyson Gamble; Doug "Hop" Gamble's loved son, Tyler Gamble; nieces, Angie, Jeannie, and Zadie; and Lillie's dog, Kenzie and grandpuppy, Ryder; along with many very cherished aunts, uncles and friends.
Lillie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert "Mick" Sparks; grandparents, Charles and Fay Powell; brother, John Jones; and nephew, Doug "Hop" Gamble.
Lillie was the embodiment of family, love, charity, compassion and community. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother. She lived for those she loved and those she loved remember. She touched so many lives in her short years. She was a volunteer facilitator with WICS (Widowed Information Consultation Services), Tops, and anywhere else she could lend a helping hand. All of her friends and family had wonderful adventures that were never boring. She loved cooking for her family and received great praise for her pumpkin pies, banana bread, and much more. She has been our teacher, adviser, and greatest inspiration and will be greatly missed.
In life I loved you dearly ,
In death I love you still,
In my heart you hold a place,
That nobody could ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
