

Margaret Baunsgard, 89, a life long area resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 9, 2010. She was born Margaret Ruth Jacobsen on November 14, 1920 at Lake Goodwin, Washington to Carl and Carrie Jacobsen. She was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1939, and attended Bellingham Normal School (now known as Western Washington University). She married Leslie Baunsgard on February 23, 1942 at Faith Lutheran Church, Lakewood, Washington. Margaret was an active member of the Lutheran faith, becoming a member of both Faith Lutheran Church in Lakewood, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Marysville, Washington. She was an active participant in the Lakewood community dedicating much of her time to Faith Lutheran Church, Lake Goodwin Fire Department and Lake Goodwin Community Club. She loved bowling, gardening and boating. Margaret and Les were members of the Shelter Bay Yacht Club for many years. Also, she was known for her delicious Krumkake and Lefsa!
She is survived by her sons Gary Baunsgard, Ron Baunsgard (Normie) and daughter-in-law Vicki Baunsgard (Kenny, deceased). She is also survived by grandsons Matthew Baunsgard (James), Chad Baunsgard (Rachel), Dustin Baunsgard (Caitlin), and granddaughter Amy Heusser (Cameron), great grandchildren Chelsea Rogers, Whitney Heusser, Calvin Heusser, and Scarlett Baunsgard. She is also survived by her sister Hannah Roth, brother Earl Jacobsen (Norma), brother-in-laws Donald Baunsgard and Dave Cunningham and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leslie Baunsgard, son Kenneth Baunsgard, grandson Bradley Baunsgard, sister Christine Cunningham, and nephew Wayne Cunningham.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Everett, Washington, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 1424 – 172nd Avenue N. E. Arlington, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Snohomish County or Faith Lutheran Church.
