Marion Dawn Becker

Marion was born May 9, 1939 in Mineola, Texas to Raymond Harper and Reba Hogan. Her family moved to Alma, Arkansas in 1946 and then to Salinas, California a few years later. She often told stories of the fun times she had with her sisters at the beaches in California. She married Earl C. Becker on April 11, 1961 and moved with him to Marysville, Washington in 1965 where they raised their five children: Earl Jr, Shawn, Corey, Russell, and Dana.

She was a woman of many talents and hobbies, but she especially enjoyed reading, crocheting, and baking. Her husband and sons were involved in sprint car racing and Marion could always be found in the stands cheering them on. She was a longtime member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church and served as an usher for several years.

Marion was a warm, loving soul whose kind heart and sense of humor earned her many friends over the years. Her kindness extended to animals as much as people: she supported several animal welfare organizations and was known for keeping the birds and squirrels in her neighborhood well-fed. Above all, though, Marion’s one great love was her family, who are heartbroken at her passing and will forever cherish the memories they have with her.

Marion is survived by her husband Earl; her children Shawn Becker, Corey (Jutta) Becker, Russell Becker, Dana (John) Snell; grandchildren Shanda (Josh) Zimmerman, Nolan Zimmerman, Amanda (Quinten) Baldwin, Elise (Cory) Davis; sister Rayma Clogston and brother Stormi (Linda) Harper; and great-grandson Luke Baldwin, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Harper and Reba Hogan, sister Alana Baque, stepson Earl Becker Jr, daughter-in-law Rusty Becker, and great-granddaughter Parker Dawn Baldwin.

The family will be honoring Marion at a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to The American Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank EvergreenHealth Hospice for the care they provided to Marion in her final days.
