

Morris is survived by his four children, John Thorp, Michelle Helman, Wendy Thorp Behnke and Tanya Thorp. He also leaves behind four younger brothers, Harvey, Keith, Jack John and Frank; as well as four grandsons, Logan, Matthew, Joshua, and Ethan.
Morris was born on February 16, 1936 in New London, Connecticut to the late John and Marjorie Thorp and had been a resident of Snohomish County since 1977. After working on the family farm and graduating from Stonington High School, Morris served in the Army and Air Force. Morris later joined the Navy where he met his former spouse, Esther, who preceded him in death.
After 22 years in military service, Morris retired from the Navy and began a second career as a diesel machinist for Burlington Northern Railroad, eventually retiring in 1998 after 21 years.
Morris had a passion for his model railroad, his Chevrolet truck, and the Green Bay Packers. He loved sharing his hobbies with his children, grandchildren and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home of Marysville followed by a private burial.
