Nadine was born January 3, 1948, the youngest of 18 children of Goodwin and Frances Olson. She graduated from Stanwood High School in 1966 and later that year she married Edward Maychrzak on November 20. Together they made their first home at Juniper Beach on Camano Island in 1968. In 1970, they moved to Stanwood and in 1977 they moved to Marysville. Nadine and her family were active members of St. Mary’s parish in Maryville and then later Immaculate Conception parish in Everett.
Nadine worked as a caregiver to many over her lifetime. She went back to school and attended Everett Community College where she graduated in 1986 with an Associate of Arts and Sciences and later became a Registered Nurse. In 1990 she graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services. Over her career she worked at Josephine Sunset Home, Madeleine Villa Nursing Home, Havenwood Care Center, Catholic Community Services and Leisure Care. She dedicated herself to helping mothers and families in need through volunteering and working at Two Hearts Pregnancy Aid in Everett until 2011.
Nadine will be remembered for her dedication, compassion, warm smile, and warm hugs. She was always willing to step in and help others whether it was through hard work, baked goods, or a handmade baby blanket. Nadine enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, rubber stamping and baking.
Nadine is survived by her husband Edward Maychrzak, son Brett Maychrzak, daughter Edine (Jeff) Mayer, daughter Jennifer (David) Roller and son Paul (Mayet) Maychrzak and her grandchildren: Jesse Mayer, Eric Mayer, Benjamin Maychrzak, Zachary Maychrzak, Abriana Roller and Asher Roller. Her sisters: Mavis (Bud) Halverson, Gladys Collins, Arloween Risner, her brothers: Darrell Olson and Myron Olson, and many nieces and nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Goodwin and Frances Olson, brothers: Harley, Herbert, Gerald, Ernie, Goodwin, Jr. and Harold Olson, sisters: Irene Srb, Doris Zander, Della Bailey, Jean Stewart, Darlys Burch, and Arlys Douglas.
On Thursday June 13, 2024, a visitation will be held from 2-5PM and a rosary/vigil prayer service will be held at 6PM at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville. On Friday June 14, 2024, a funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Hope Church in Everett. Graveside committal services will be held at 1:30 PM, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Snohomish.
