

Neal A. Bartlett Nov. 4, 1925-Feb. 21, 2017 Neal Alton Bartlett, 91, was born November 4, 1925 to Carll and Edna Bartlett in Marysville, WA. Neal graduated from Marysville High School in 1944. Neal passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Neal leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn Bartlett; and four children, Debbie Larson (Vic), Pamela Bartlett, Scott Bartlett (Linda) and Brent Bartlett (Barb); grandchildren, Jami Minnich (Greg), Viktor Larson (Robin), Malena Powell (Tyson), Jussi Phenis (Alan) and Josh Bartlett; great grandchildren, Bryce, Madison, Dru, Ruby and Ivan. Neal also leaves behind his brother, Brad Bartlett. A World War II veteran, Neal continued his education and played football at Everett Junior College following the war. Following Junior College, Neal attended Western Washington University on a football scholarship. Neal started his teaching career at Fobes Hill in Snohomish and later went on to teach at Cascade High School in 1962. A first generation coach at Cascade High School, Neal was fully committed for twenty eight years to his job as a teacher and a coach. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Carll and Edna Bartlett; and three siblings, Joyce, Peg and Richard. A Celebration of life will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave, Marysville WA 98270. Reception to follow.
