Dick had many wonderful stories to tell about being raised in Everett by his parents Olaf and Ebba Dale. He attended Everett Jr College and Western Wa University where he earned his Masters Degree in education and met his wife Bonnie (Bergh). They married in 1952. He was drafted into the Army in 1954, after beginning his first teaching job. He served as a morse code operator and helped soldiers achieve their GEDs.
Dick and Bonnie raised 3 children Debbi, Mike and Karen. They were teachers of fine arts in Marysville. Dick taught English, Speech and Drama. Together they produced many wonderful musicals for the community, but mostly they created a safe place for high schoolers to create and grow.
Dick performed with the Norwegian Male Chorus for over 25 years. He was very proud of his Norwegian heritage.
After Bonnie's death in 1987, Dick continued to cultivate friendships and connections by volunteering as director of the Stilly Singers and The Singing Strings. These groups performed in local nursing homes around the county. This is where he met his 2nd wife Phyllis (Mahoney). They married in 2001 and enjoyed traveling and singing together and spending time with their blended family for 21 years.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elaine Moschilli, his wife Bonnie and his best friends Francis Cox and George Oelrich.
He leaves behind his wife Phyllis, his children, Debra Fuller (Tom & children Kristaan, Randy, Emily & Zachary), Micheal Dale (Lynne & daughter Hannah), Karen Hundley (Darryl & children Megan & Malene). His niece Walayn Sharples (Allen). His nephew Kevin Moschilli. Step daughter Carolyn Anderson (KC) and step son Skip Langley (Carol Bishop).
