Richard Allen Smith

He was raised in Marysville along with his younger brother, Dale. He graduated from Marysville High School. Dick spent 2 years in the Army, most of which he spent skippering tugboats in the New Orleans area. When he returned after a few years he went to work for a tugboat company for over 38 years -- the last 29 as a Skipper.

Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman. After retirement he was able to spend all his free time on the river, the sound or in the woods. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Turkey Federation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, CCA, and many others that supported the right to hunt and fish. Dick was also a life member of Crystal Lodge No. 122, F & AM.

Dick is survived by his brother, Dale Smith (Marian), Nephew Greg Smith and Great nieces Emily and Ella Smith; Niece Diana Murphy (Shane) and Great Niece Samantha Murphy and Great Nephew Devin Murphy. He also leaves cousin Donna Kuper and her son Greg.
