Hello Folks, I am the one who came to the celebration of Rodney's life and told a few stories that reflected a couple of my favorite things about Rod - his sense of humor and his capacity for compassion. Part of me wanted to follow you home and tell you more stories. And part of me wanted to give you space to heal as a family. Obviously that part won out. Still I wanted to say this: Thank-you for letting his Boeing friends share in the celebration of his life. The message I was trying to convey through tears was the piece I really wanted you folks to hear: Rod Hardesty was a 'silent hero'. One of those guys who goes through life not getting accolades for the wonderful things he does but he does it anyway. And in the doing he becomes the Rock that many can lean on. He was our Rock. We will miss him always,

Our love and prayers go out to the family; Rodney's brother Keith is a very good friend of ours. Our thoughts are with you in this time of loss.

Thanks for great memories, Rod! I never knew your family life, but you kept me laughing through 20 years at work, my friend! It wouldn't have been Flight Test without you.

Our hearts are sadden to hear about Rodney. Although he lived far away, he always made the trip to Tuttle to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma.  I know how much they enjoyed those visits.   May God richly bless you with an abundance of peace and comfort.  May your memories of Rodney flood your minds and hearts today and always.
