He was born on May 7, 1936 to Harry and Bea (Heier) Murrish in Seattle, WA. He attended St. Benedict school and graduated from O’Dea High School in 1954.
Ron went to work for Pacific NW Bell, where he met his future wife, Donna. They were married at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on October 19, 1963 and shared 59 happy years together. He took an early retirement from PNB, took a year off, and returned to work at Washington Mutual bank as a communications consultant. He loved his work and “being out amongst ‘em”.
Growing up, Mt. Rainier was visible from the kitchen window of his family home and the family made many trips to the mountain. It was very special to him and he and Donna made a point of visiting there at least once a year to hike the trails and in 1982, Ron fulfilled a long-time goal of climbing to the top.
Throughout the years, other activities included square dancing with club in Ballard, Puget Sound Chapter of Pontiac car club, St. Vincent de Paul through both St. Mark parish and St. Matthew parish, trips to all the islands of Hawaii, and many other trips, near and far.
When it came time to downsize, they moved to Marysville, WA where they were closer to family members.
Ron is survived by Donna, his wife of 59 yrs, nieces and nephews Barbara Onufer, Carol Cameron (Steve), Jeff Cameron (Kerry), Bryant Cameron (Miguel), Kathleen Colvard (John), Mark Hoeper (Julie), grand nephews & nieces Garret Onufer (Madison), Wade Onufer, Cameron Moffatt (Jill), Kayleigh Cameron, Jennifer Hamilton (Robert), Daniel Hoeper (Shannon), Jessica Hoeper, great-greats Chase and Cruz Moffatt, Emmett Hoeper.
