Shirley Joe Cloninger

Joe was a graduate of Everett High School and went on to become a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a demolition expert and sharp shooter. Joe and Janice Seat were married July 7, 1966 in Coeur d' alene, Idaho.

He worked for Boeing for 18 years, retiring in 2004. Joe was a member of the Everett Elks. He had a passion for fishing and loved camping and getting together with family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Strago; mother, Solla Wells; and father, Duane Cloninger.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Curtis (Heather) and Vernon (Maria) Christianson; daughters, Judy Cloninger and Cheryl Hammer; grandchildren, Rick Cloninger, Larry Thomas, Keith Christianson, Jose Torres, Upabel Christianson, Vernon Christianson and Penny Christianson, and Rani Hammer; siblings, Phyllis Cloninger and Gene (Lorita) Cloninger; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial potluck will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Marysville.
