

Stephen M. Senteny, 90, died of complications due to Covid on August 4, 2022 at Providence Hospital of Everett. He was born August 3, 1932 in Farmington, Illinois, the son of Joseph Bouck Senteney and Martha Helen (Bennett) Senteney.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving in Japan, Korea, and Africa during several wars and was awarded two medals honoring his wartime service. He was stationed at the Paine Field Air Force Base where he worked as an airplane mechanic and decided to reside in Washington state permanently as he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. After his discharge he joined the Merchant Marines as Chief Electrician until his retirement. While he worked as a merchant seaman he received commendations for his service delivering supplies to our troops during the Vietnam War. He married Wanda Faye (Dukeman) Senteney on July 5, 1954. They celebrated 68 years of marriage in July and together raised six daughters. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, remodeling houses, and especially camping and fishing. The highlight of his retirement was spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them grow. He also loved traveling around the United States with Wanda in their motorhome sightseeing at many of our nations wonders. His love of nature and the outdoors has been passed along to his daughters, as well as many other invaluable skills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Joanne (Senteney) Lawyer, and his brother Ward Senteney.
He leaves behind his wife, Wanda Faye (Dukeman) Senteney. Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters Janet (Senteney) Dempsey of Mount Vernon, Barbara (Senteney) Taylor of Everett and her husband Bob, Christine (Senteney) Fingarson of Everett, Lori (Senteney) Bystrom of Everett, Dawn (Senteney) Lindberg of Everett, and Sylvia (Senteney) Erickson of Everett and her husband Lane. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather Dempsey, Allie Dempsey, Michael Taylor, Nicole Fingarson, Sarah Fingarson, and Lana Clark, and four great grandchildren, Cole Busch, Aedyn Strawn, Zori Clark, and Zantford Clark, and many nieces and nephews in Illinois.
No services will be held, and arrangements of his choosing have been made for his cremation. His ashes will be scattered at a later date by his wife and family.
