Agostino “Augie” Pace, 85, of Seaford, New York died Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Born in Italy, as a young man he traveled to America and became a proud United States citizen. He married his soul mate, Norma, and they raised their family in Brooklyn and Seaford.
Augie was a successful businessman- he was a real estate proprietor and owner of an auto repair shop and gas station for many years. He believed in the value of hard work and dedicated many hours to the success of his businesses. In his golden years, Augie worked for the Roslyn School District as a bus driver, a role he cherished as he adored the children and families he served. “Mr. Pace” would play Z-100’s morning zoo for the kids each day, much to their delight!
Augie was a loyal member of the St. Anthony Society, where he served as President for many years. He worked tirelessly with his officers and membership to plan many successful fundraising events including carnivals, elegant dinner dances and the beloved Christmas celebration, where he occasionaly made guest appearances as Santa Claus. When he retired from the Society, in gratitude for years of dedication, he was named President Emeritus.
Family, and being together for the holidays was important to Augie and his wife, Norma. They welcomed many family members and friends over the years to celebrate and feast on Italian specialties. Augie was proud of his children and adored his grandchildren, who have wonderful memories of spending time at grandma and grandpa’s house, eating Augie’s homemade focaccia.
Agostino Pace was predeceased by his wife, Norma, and son Angelo. He is survived by his children: Marie of East Stroudsburg, PA; Anthony and his wife Lindsey (Armstrong) of Glen Ridge, NJ; Michael and his wife Thea (Orefice) of Marlboro, NJ; Patricia of Brooklyn, NY; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Vilinksy, Daniel Vilinksy, Christopher Pace, Amanda Pace, Alexander Pace, Samuel Pace, Maximus Pace, Brady Pace, and Atticus Pace; and many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
