Albert D. DellaSala Jr., born on August 4, 1933, in Brooklyn, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 92. Albert was a hard-working, honest, and humorous individual whose selflessness, loyalty, and bravery inspired those around him. He will be remembered as smart, wise, kind-hearted, and generous person, cherished and beloved by many.
Albert served proudly as an Army veteran, having been honorably discharged in 1955. His service not only demonstrated his devotion but also contributed to his thoughtful and compassionate character shared with all who knew him.
He shared a nourishing and heartwarming life with his beloved wife, Ursula. Albert was a loving father to his daughter, Theresa (married to Robert), and was predeceased by his son, John. His cherished granddaughter, Nicole, also survives him, alongside his caring sister, Maryann, and Eddie. He was predeceased by his brother, John.
Albert's interests were as vibrant and animated as he himself. He loved fishing, was enamored with Frank Sinatra's melodies, and nothing beat a round of great sarcastic banter with his beloved family and friends. His Thursdays were spent with buddies at the Miller Ale House, relishing antics at work, running the famous coffee club, and recruiting other Mets and Knicks fans along the way. Antipasto and paper napkins adorned every meal, particularly sided with his Flying Saucers and pistachio ice cream from Carvel. He found notable company in "Buddy," his dog, and was an avid reader, seldom found without a newspaper under his arm, often half-covered with laughter.
We invite those who wish to celebrate Albert’s cheerful spirit to attend the visitation on December 28, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at James Funeral Home located at 540 Broadway, Massapequa, NY 11758. A Funeral Mass will follow on December 29, 2025, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at the St. Kilian Parish, 485 Conklin St, Farmingdale, NY 11735. Albert was often told he didn't quite look his age, nudging this compliment away, stating, "I'm 92, I had a good run," to offer solace to his family. The family of Albert expresses their profound gratitude for the various expressions of sympathy during this arduous time. Indeed, he will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by his vibrant spirit.
