

Alberta "Chickie" Myers, a beloved, compassionate, devoted, and inspirational member of the Massapequa community, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on July 24, 1934, Chickie was a wise, kind-hearted, and selfless woman, always known for her gentle and thoughtful personality.
Chickie's remarkable career began at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she attended on a full scholarship. Her education paved the way for a long and successful career at Vanity Fair. Known for her exceptional Bra designs, she worked on famous brands like Victoria's Secret and Nike, winning several awards for her outstanding efforts.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Frank, Chickie is remembered as a loving mother to her daughters, Diana (Gerard Cusa), Susan (Daniel Gillespie), and Alison (Patrick LaPersonerie). She was a cherished grandmother to Camryn, Dylan, Jenna, Jaclyn, Owen, and Claudia, and a caring sister to Maureen (Robert) Cunningham. As an aunt and godmother, titles she held with pride, she also touched the lives of many nieces and nephews.
Apart from her professional accomplishments, Chickie was an extraordinary cook, renowned for her legendary dishes, particularly her chicken soup and meatballs. She loved visiting casinos and enjoyed crochet. Most of all, her heart beat strongly for her family, making them her utmost priority. Chickie's fondness for shopping, especially on QVC, was unstoppable, demonstrating dedication and joy.
Despite her reserved demeanor, Chickie's faith played an essential role in her life as a devout and practicing Catholic, with a strong devotion to St. Jude.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visitation at James Funeral Home on Broadway, Massapequa, New York, on August 24, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and a second viewing from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A religious mass will be held in Chickie's honor at Maria Regina Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, New York, on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 10:45 am, with her interment to follow at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries in Farmingdale, New York, at 12:30 pm.
The family of Chickie extends their heartfelt gratitude for the support shown during this challenging time and kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude in her name. Chickie's legacy of kindness, patience, cheerfulness, and devotion will always be cherished and celebrated by those who were fortunate to have known her.
