Our family was so lucky to have known Mrs. Chao. She was an incredibly energetic and positive person, and just being in her presence was a blessing. I have so many fond memories of visiting the Chao family in Astoria, and getting into all sorts of trouble with David and Dolly, but Mrs. Chao was always incredibly gracious, kind, and understanding of our rough-housing. She was also an AMAZING chef and when she threw a party, the quality and quantity of food was astonishing. I only realized much later in life--when I tried to cook some of the dishes that I remembered so vividly from her parties--just how much work was involved in making each one of them. We will miss her sorely, but she lives on in the wonderful family that she raised, and of which she was so proud.

With deepest condolences,
Andrew Lo
