Angelina Morreale, a vibrant and steadfast soul, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on March 7, 1927, Angelina lived a rich and spirited life as the matriarch of her beloved family. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Salvatore, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love, and her sister, Paulina Calandra.
Angelina was a devoted mother to her children: Anthony (Janet), Carl (Darlene), Annette, and Jo-Anne (John) Quaranto. She leaves behind a legacy of love as a treasured grandmother to Christina (Tim) Grillo, Carl (Maria), Nicholas Quaranto, Lauren Morreale, Kimberly Quaranto, and Roseanne Morreale, and a doting great-grandmother to seven beautiful great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Known for her stubborn yet endearing Italian spirit, Angelina was the life of the party, always ready with a dance step or a witty remark. Her faith in her religion was unwavering, guiding her through a life filled with purpose and resilience. A woman of sharp intellect, she was proud to have qualified as a contestant on Jeopardy, showcasing her love for crosswords and reading. Angelina was a hard worker who never wanted to retire, finding fulfillment in her dedication to both her career and her family.
A devoted member of the Red Hat Society, Angelina enjoyed bingo, knitting, and the occasional twirl on the dance floor. While she wasn’t fond of soup herself, her legendary chicken soup warmed the hearts and stomachs of those she loved. Cooking may not have been her forte, but her presence in the kitchen—and in life—was unforgettable.
Funeral arrangements for Angelina will be held at James Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Glendale, New York, with interment at Cypress Hill Cemetery, where she will finally be reunited with her beloved Salvatore.
