

Iannotta, Angelo Leone "Charlie" of Port St. Lucie, Fla. passed away on June 10, 2012 in his home at the age of 89 after a short battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Marion and Alfonso Iannotta. He was affectionately known as "Charlie" to his friends and family. He served in the US Army as a fifth grade technician (44’-46’), during World War II. In the early years, Charlie worked as a butcher and owned a store in Brooklyn with his brother, John. He moved to Copiague, NY with his wife Helen and raised 4 children. He retired to Florida where he enjoyed playing golf, hosting parties and still practicing his craft as a butcher for family and friends. He is a member of the Italian American Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen (Turi); daughter Marion of Massapequa, NY, son Alfonso, his wife Jacqueline and children Michael and Madison of Marlton, NJ, son John, his wife Katherine and children Kevin and Ashley of Selden, NY; and daughter Anita Fieldsa and children Alyssa and Jesse of Gap, Pa. Besides his grandchildren, he leaves behind his great–grandchild Mason. He is also survived by his in-laws, John and Mae Turi of Port St Lucie, Fla. and Bernice and Ralph Pinghero of Fort Pierce, Fla. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Frank, John, Michael, Victor, Alfonso and his sister Mary.
~Family and friends can visit on Thursday, June 14, 2012 between the hours of 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. at James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway Massapequa. Funeral Mass to be held Friday 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption RC Church, 1 Molloy Street, Copiague, New York 11726. Interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery Middle Village Queens.
