January 29, 1926 – February 17, 2013

BENEDICT J. RUSSO, on February 17, 2013 of North Massapequa, New York. Beloved husband of the late Rose Russo of 55 years of marriage. Loving father of Linda Marie Lendino, Joann Russo, and Benedict Russo Jr. Adored grandfather of Melinda Svenram, Pete Glassberg, Michael Lendino, Krissy Glassberg, Melisa Conlin, Heather Russo, Matthew Russo. Cherished great grandfather of Eric and Avalon Svenram, Chelsea Glassberg, Conor, Edie, Casey and Christopher Glassberg. Benedict served for the United State Navy, during World War II. Was a Civil Engineer, PE. Benedict became a volunteer fireman from 1961 to present. He was a Chaplin of the North Massapequa Fire Department. Captain of Engine Company No. 2. Served as engineer for equipment. Served on the rescue squad. Past - present of the Benevolent Association. Passed - present of the Nassau Fireman Association. A Member of the Board of Directors. And also a fire inspector.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 ~ calling hours are 2:00 to 4:30 and 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. ~
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday ~ at 10:15 at St. James RC Church, 75 Seamens Neck Road, Seaford, New York, 1183 ~ Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Conklin Street, Farmingdale, New York.
