Catherine Carey age 91, was born December 19,1927 in New York City to Margarette and Peter Connolly. Catherine grew up in Queens and graduated as valedictorian from Saint Vincent Ferrer High School. Catherine married and moved to Uniondale to start her family with husband Joseph Carey (deceased). Catherine was a devout Catholic and a source of joy and laughter to her family. For more than thirty years Catherine was an Administrative Assistant at the Lawrence Road Junior High School and Uniondale High School where she later retired. She is survived by her children Lorraine Nespeca and Kevin Carey; and their spouses Robert Nespeca and Kathy Carey,and the late Thomas Carey. Grand children, Kristen, Sharon, Bobby, Joseph, Johnny, Sean, Shane, and Steven, Great grandchildren Taylor, Vincent, Dominic, and her siblings, Robert Connolly,William Connolly,and Patricia Prentis, and the late Peter Connolly. In lieu of flowers donations in Catherine's name can be: Saint Jude's Hospital or the Salvation Army.

Family and friends are welcome to James Funeral Home an hour before the funeral mass time.
