Born on May 14, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, Eddie was the beloved son of Edward and Rose. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying with him the values of honor, dedication, and service throughout his life.
Eddie married the love of his life, Carolyn, and together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Their love was the foundation of a beautiful family, and together they were blessed with five children. Eddie was a remarkable husband and an extraordinary father—dependable, generous, and always the first to show up when someone needed him. His family knew they could always count on him, no matter the circumstance.
A talented athlete, Eddie, was a Golden Gloves boxing champion in his younger years. He also found peace and happiness on the water, where fishing became one of his favorite pastimes. But nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by the people he loved.
To his grandchildren, he was simply "Poppy," a title he wore with immense pride. Being their grandfather was one of the greatest blessings of his life. Whether sharing stories, offering encouragement, or simply spending time together, Poppy created memories that will be treasured forever.
Eddie and Carolyn shared countless simple, meaningful daily rituals throughout their marriage. Whether it was enjoying a quiet moment together, running errands, or simply sitting side by side, it never mattered what they were doing, as long as they were together. Their enduring love was an inspiration to everyone who knew them.
Eddie will be remembered for his generous heart, his quiet strength, his unwavering reliability, and the deep love he gave so freely to his family. His life was a testament to the importance of showing up, loving deeply, and cherishing the people who matter most.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Carolyn; his five children: Edward, Steven, Richard, Robin, Michelle (Carlo); his cherished grandchildren: Hayley, Taylor, Johnny, Michael, Christopher, Samantha, Anthony; and extended family; and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Eddie's love, wisdom, and example will live in the hearts of all who had the privilege of calling him husband, Dad, Poppy, and friend.
Visitation will be held at James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa, NY 11758, US, on August 2, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Maria Regina RC Church, 3945 Jerusalem Ave, Seaford, New York 11783, on August 3, 2026, at 9:45 am, and also at Maria Regina Roman Catholic Church, 3945 Jerusalem Ave, Seaford, NY 11783, US, on August 3, 2026, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.
Interment will follow at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on August 3, 2026.
