Born in Austria, Erika embarked on a journey that would take her across oceans and continents, ultimately settling in a new country where she embraced life with courage and determination.
Erika was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge that knew no bounds. Her love for literature was matched only by her passion for travel, and she delighted in exploring both well-known destinations and obscure corners of the globe. With each adventure, Erika discovered new cultures, forged lasting friendships, and enriched her life with unforgettable experiences.
Despite the challenges of starting anew in a foreign land, Erika's indomitable spirit and unwavering resolve allowed her to overcome adversity with grace and resilience. She embraced her new language and culture with enthusiasm, carving out a place for herself in her adopted home and inspiring others with her courage and determination.
During the 1980s, Erika's life was forever changed when she found her true love, Tony, also known as John, at work. Theirs was a love story for the ages, built on a foundation of mutual respect, unwavering support, and shared dreams. Together, they navigated life's joys and sorrows, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Erika was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tony, leaving behind a void that could never be filled. However, the love they shared continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew them, a testament to the enduring power of their bond.
Erika was a cherished sister to Elizabeth, Olga, and Franz, and her presence brought warmth and joy to their lives. She was also adored by her many nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved aunt.
A celebration of Erika's life will be held on February 22, 2024 2-4 & 6-8 at James Funeral Home A 7pm Tribucast will be held @ 6:45pm. Entombment to follow at the St. Charles Cemetery All who knew and loved Erika are invited to attend and share their cherished memories of her.
Erika will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved beyond measure.
