George L. Jelinek

Loving husband of 55 years to Marion (nee Shea). Devoted father to Lisaann Samboy, Keith Jelinek, Karen (John) Messemer, Lauren (Kenneth) Pulvidente. Beloved grandfather "Poppy" to Timothy, Matthew, Holly, Sarah, Rebeccah, Hayley, Victoria, and Julianna. Cherished brother-in-law of Clairemarie Dolan and Kevin Shea Sr. Adored by his many nieces and nephews.

George was an exceptional man. Be retired after almost 50 years with the U.S. Government as Port Director of JFK Airport with the U.S.D.A and Project Mgr. for Homeland Security. George served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959 after graduating from the University of Delaware.

He was a beloved member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6911, where he enjoyed playing cards and volunteering for Adoptive Battalion to help our soldiers. He was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, where he helped with bingo and as a church usher. He put a smile on everyone's face with his stories and his jokes. George was devoted family man and a friend to all. He will be sorely missed.
