

Most of Isaac’s career was as an employee of The Lawrence Children’s Underwear Co., a New York City based firm, which specialized in children’s and women’s garments. He started at Lawrence as a “cutter” and finished his career as Vice President in Charge of Production, overseeing all of Lawrence’s manufacturing facilities.
Born October 15, 1937, in The Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rachelle Altabef.
In addition to his wife, all three of his children survive: Peter Altabef, husband of Jennifer Altabef, of Dallas, Texas, Kenneth Altabef, husband of Leslie Altabef, of Garden City, New York, and Jeffrey Altabef, husband of Karen Altabef, of Sleepy Hollow, New York, and six grandchildren. A sister, Sylvia Feldman, also survives. Two brothers, Harry Altabef and Morris Altabef, and a sister, Nora Hora, preceded him in death.
Private funeral services will be held at Dignity Memorial/James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa, NY 11758, on Friday, May 30, 2025. Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, 49-02 Laurel Hill Blvd., Woodside, NY 11377, on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Good Shepard Hospice, Mercy Medical Center, 1000 North Village Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY, 11750.”
