Lorraine E. D’Angelo was born on November 19, 1934, at Wyckoff Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, to Arthur and Helen Brady. She spent her childhood in Cambria Heights and attended Andrew Jackson High School. It was there that Lorraine met her future husband, Anthony E. D’Angelo, Jr.
Lorraine and Anthony were married on September 5, 1953. They made their first home together in St. Albans, Queens before moving to North Massapequa in 1958. The couple shared 53 loving years of marriage until Anthony’s passing.
Lorraine was a woman of remarkable energy and independence. Even in her later years, she went to the gym every day and participated in activities at the Senior Citizens Center. She especially loved playing cards—Gin Rummy was her favorite—and often filled the room with laughter during games. Her friends and family fondly remember how her joyful spirit made every gathering more memorable. Lorraine’s unwavering support and kindness touched everyone she met.
A devoted member of Maria Regina Church for 67 years, Lorraine attended Saturday evening mass and cherished dinners afterward with her close friends.
Lorraine is survived by her sister, Ruth Miller; her three children, Lorraine Incarnato (with husband Steven), Loretta Strunk (with husband Robert), and Anthony E. D’Angelo III (with wife Melissa); and her nine grandchildren: Christopher, Alison, Steven, Kristen, Joshua, Alexandra, Justin, Anthony, and Nathan.
Lorraine’s warmth, laughter, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
