Louise Cassillo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Louise Marie Cassillo, who left this world peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 90. Louise was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend whose warmth, humor, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on December 6, 1934, Louise lived a long and full life, rich in love and laughter. She shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Al Cassillo, and together they built a beautiful family. Louise was the proud mother of four children: Rosemarie Gervasi (Nicholas), Michael Cassillo, Donna Cassillo (Herbert), and Theresa Cassillo. Her love and guidance extended deeply to her grandchildren — Alicia McCann (Mike), Brittany Gervasi, Jessica Hylka, and Christian Hylka — and most recently, to her great-granddaughter, little Gia McCann, who brought her great joy in her later years.

Louise was the heart of her family and the life of any gathering. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life — especially playing Bingo and holding court as the reigning “Poker Queen.”

Above all, Louise loved her family fiercely. Her home was always a place of comfort, her table full, and her arms open. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.

Louise was truly loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those she leaves behind.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at James Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 22 at 11:15 am at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Massapequa, NY, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.

Louise's vibrant spirit and boundless love will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
