

Marie Cariola Granito, a generous and cherished individual, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on April 4, 1933, Marie was predeceased by Albert Granito and was the beloved wife of Robert Cariola. She was a loving mother to Gerard (predeceased), Frank (Grace), and Joanna (Sylvain). Marie was also a devoted grandmother to Anthony, Michael, Christopher (Hannah), Camille, and Gabriel; and a great grandmother to Sofia.
Marie was known for her gentle and compassionate nature. An inspirational and kind-hearted person, she always remained loyal and thoughtful to those around her. As a faithful and devout Catholic, she was deeply committed to her spiritual beliefs and lived her life in accordance with them.
A fun-loving and funny individual, Marie had an infectious smile and a remarkable ability to bring joy to others. She was recognized as a stylish and modern woman, always impeccably dressed, whether at home or out and about. Her passion for Broadway shows, travel, and dancing reflected her vibrant personality. As the family-oriented matriarch, Marie excelled as a cook and hostess, ensuring every gathering was filled with warmth and hospitality. Her optimistic outlook on life brought encouragement to family and friends alike.
Visitation services will be held at the James Funeral Home at 540 Broadway, Massapequa, NY 11758, on August 21, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a second visitation from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes, 855 Carmans Road, Massapequa Park, NY 11762, on August 22, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. John Nepomucene, 1140 Locust Ave, Bohemia, NY 11716, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
