Marie Murray

Born on March 31, 1943, in Brooklyn, Maria was the beloved daughter of Salvatore Gerbino and Rosaria Finazzo.

Maria was predeceased by her husband of seven years, Andrew Murray, who passed away in 1977. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Maria Taylor (John), and her son, Andrew Murray (Amy Maiglow).

She was a proud and cherished Nanny to Vanessa Taylor, Johnny Taylor, Samantha Rose Murray, and Philip Murray, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Maria was a loving sister of Gasper Gerbino and Kay Adesso. She held a special place in her heart for her beloved pets—Sam, Bambi, Boscoe, and Biscuit—who were treasured members of her family.

Maria found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved cooking meals for those she cared about, tending to her garden, watching her favorite television shows and movies, and cheering on the New York Yankees.

Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family created countless cherished memories that will be carried forward by all who knew and loved her.

Maria's legacy is one of love, family, and unwavering care for those around her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held at James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa, NY 11758, US, on June 8, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Maria Regina Roman Catholic Church, 3945 Jerusalem Ave, Seaford, NY 11783, US, on June 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Burial will follow at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on June 9, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
